Medical services are an essential component of integrative wellness at Sunrise Springs. Our highly-credentialed team is comprised of our Medical Director, Dr. Sally Fisher, a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and an Ayurvedic Medicine Specialist.

Guests meet with Dr. Sally for a relaxed and personal consultation that can focus on a range of topics including nutrition and weight, sleep, stress and digestive health. For our Immerse & Thrive guests, an Integrative Wellness Evaluation is used to develop a plan, which includes goals and recommendations for activities and services during a guest’s stay. Dr. Sally is passionate about tea and enjoys sharing a cup with others at the beginning of each consultation.

Laboratory testing such as cortisol and other hormone levels, nutrient levels or digestive health are available where indicated and desired with phone follow-up.

For focused issues or goals, 80 minutes $249 or 50 minutes $159.

For more complex or longstanding concerns, consider 110 minutes $329.   

For a brief introduction to holistic medicine and a conversation about potential further exploration, consider 25 minutes $79.

Phone or Skype visits are available upon departure for short or longer term consultation or to follow up on lab results with Dr. Fisher at above rates.

Acupuncture Requires 48-hour advanced booking
Acupuncture is the foundational treatment approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been used for more than 2,500 years to reduce pain, stress, arthritis and depression. After a consultation, our licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM)  will administer acupuncture based on your personal needs to balance the flow of energy (Qi) and promote your body’s natural healing process. The Chinese medical concept of nourishing and replenishing Qi and other vital forces can aid in pain management, energy balance resulting in  a deeper state of wellbeing. 80-minutes $189     Additional 50-minute session $149

Ayurvedic Healing Consultation Requires 48-hour advanced booking
Ayurveda medicine is a 5,000-year-old practice that emphasizes the underlying root of imbalance in all areas of life. In this balance-restoring consultation, a practitioner will address your current diet, lifestyle, stress management tools and state of health, and make healing recommendations through the use of herbs, nutrition, aromatherapy oils, massage, meditation, and yoga. End your session with the insight to take your Ayurvedic healing to a deeper level and cleanse, nurture and rejuvenate your health.
80-minutes initial consultation $189     50-minute follow-up $149

Chiropractic Session Requires 48-hour advanced booking
The practice of chiropractic care focuses on the examination of the spine to evaluate structure and function, and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In this healing session, your licensed chiropractor, manipulations may be made to correct alignment, alleviate pain, improve function and support your body’s natural ability to heal itself. Take-home corrective exercises will be provided for long-term benefits.

Posture & Wellbeing Requires 48-hour advanced booking
Even in the absence of pain, many of us know that we are not sitting, standing and moving optimally. Postural imbalances can lead to misalignment that can result in pain and other health problems. An evaluation by our chiropractor will assess your posture and body alignment, and provide recommendations to
restore natural body mechanics. Experience greater comfort and mental clarity.

Sally Fisher, MD brings an unwavering passion for evidence-based integrative and nutritional medicine to Sunrise Springs. Her desire and intention is to have those she works with feel deeply that she is fully present, with warmth, humor, and knowledge, as she helps people to explore ways of enhancing their health and wellness. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Dr. Fisher enjoys sharing her extensive training and experience in integrative, nutritional, preventive and functional medicine.

Dr. Fisher began her professional career by interning at the North Shore University Hospital/New York University School of Medicine. Subsequently, she completed her residency at Mt. Sinai/New York University School of Medicine in Preventive, Occupational and Environmental Medicine. She also participated in the fellowship program in Holistic Medicine at Columbia University School of Medicine. More recently, Dr. Fisher worked as an integrative medicine/preventive medicine clinic physician at the University of New Mexico Center for Life. Dr. Fisher currently has a private practice in Albuquerque where she practices integrative, preventative, and nutritional medicine.

Dr. Fisher received her B.A. in Psychology from Yale University summa cum laude. She then earned her M.D. at the University of New Mexico, where she received the Faculty Award for Outstanding Senior. Dr. Fisher earned her M.S. in Community Medicine at Mt. Sinai/New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Fisher is board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, the American Board of Holistic and Integrative Medicine and the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.

In a future life, Sally hopes to run a teashop. Until then, she enjoys sharing this passion with others by serving tea at the start of each medical consultation. Sally also makes it a point to stay connected to nature, the breath, and to honor compassion and gratitude. She is especially grateful to have the opportunity practice medicine at Sunrise Springs.

Dr. Sally Fisher was recently recognized by Albuquerque the Magazine as Albuquerque’s TOP DOC in Preventive Medicine for the second year in a row in.
